For our Folio 5 class, we worked on creating the deliverables for the festival we created. My festival is call Curiosities and is an oddities extravaganza. Complete with vendors, music, performers, and concerts, this is a unique festival that revolves around alternative lifestyles. This is a quick run through of those deliverables with some background information for each.
First, I created a persona and a journey map for an average Curiosities attendee.
Next, I set up some branding guidelines for my event. The first thing I needed to do was create a logo. I already had chosen a color scheme and a font, so I just needed to come up with how to tie those together in a logo.
I then sat down and did some brainstorming and sketching until I came up with a concept that I felt represented the festival well. The idea of conjoined twin skulls is a good example of an oddity, so it works. Below you can see a page of my sketches, the sketch I went with, and the finished logo mark.
OUTDOOR ADVERTISING
After the branding was established, it was fairly simple to go on to create the outdoor advertising for the festival. I made a list of what deliverables I would need to create and went from there based on sizes. You can see these below. I wanted them to appear vintage, but psychedelic and enticing.
WEBSITE AND ANIMATED WEB AD
My next step was to create the website landing page as well as an animated ad for Curiosities. You can view a working prototype for the website here.
MOBILE APP AND WAYFINDING SIGNAGE
Next came the mobile app for the festival, as well as wayfinding signage. You can view a working prototype for the mobile app here.
The final step was to create a final presentation. You can view the presentation here.
